Day 1: Reflecting on Renewal
Scripture: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12
Devotional Thought:
Life is fragile. The tragedies we see around us remind us that every breath we take is a gift from God. None of us are promised tomorrow, and this reality calls us to examine our lives. Are we living with purpose? Are we aligning our hearts and actions with God’s desires for us? Renewal begins with reflection—honestly evaluating where we stand and seeking the changes God wants to make in us.
Reflection Questions:
- What areas of your life need God’s renewal?
- Are you living intentionally, or just drifting through the days?
Application:
Take 10 minutes today to reflect on your past year. Ask God to reveal areas where change is needed and write them down.
Day 2: The Call to Repentance
Scripture: “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” — Galatians 5:25
Devotional Thought:
Renewal requires repentance. Repentance is not just about saying “I’m sorry” but turning away from sin and aligning with God’s will. The enemy we face is often within—our own flesh, our old nature. The fruit of the Spirit shows us what our lives should look like when we walk with God. But where is the fruit shriveled or absent in your life?
Reflection Questions:
- Which fruit of the Spirit do you struggle with the most?
- What specific sins or habits do you need to “put off”?
Application:
Pray through Galatians 5:22–25 today. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you turn from the sins that hinder growth and empower you to walk in step with Him.
Day 3: Intentional Living
Scripture: “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” — Colossians 3:2
Devotional Thought:
Renewal doesn’t happen by accident. It requires intentionality—daily reflecting, confessing, and seeking God. Like a garden, our spiritual lives require constant care. Ignoring sin is like neglecting weeds; they will eventually choke out the good growth. Be intentional about putting off the old self and putting on the new.
Reflection Questions:
- Are you making time daily to reflect and pray?
- What “weeds” are you ignoring in your spiritual life?
Application:
Schedule a specific time each day this week to meet with God in prayer and confession. Treat this time as non-negotiable.
Day 4: Putting on the New Self
Scripture: “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” — Ephesians 4:23–24
Devotional Thought:
Renewal is not just about what we put off, but what we put on. We don’t just die to sin; we live in the Spirit. When we trusted Christ, we became a new creation. Renewal is stepping into that identity every day—aligning our thoughts, actions, and desires with God’s will. This isn’t superficial; it’s transformation from the inside out.
Reflection Questions:
- Are you living as a child of God or clinging to your old nature?
- What truths about your identity in Christ do you need to embrace?
Application:
Write down one way you can actively “put on” the new self today—whether through an act of kindness, prayer, or sharing the Gospel.
Day 5: Running to the Father
Scripture: “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” — Hebrews 4:16
Devotional Thought:
God’s love changes everything. When we stumble, the enemy wants us to hide in shame, but God invites us to run to Him. His voice is not one of accusation but of love and restoration. Like Hagar in the wilderness, God meets us where we are, asks us to reflect, and leads us forward. He loves us, desires us, and is ready to guide and help us every step of the way.
Reflection Questions:
- When you fall, do you run to God or away from Him?
- How can you practice living in God’s presence daily?
Application:
Whenever you fall short, immediately pray and confess your sins to God. Don’t wait. Trust in His forgiveness and grace to restore you.
Final Encouragement:
Renewal is a process—a daily journey of putting off the old and putting on the new. Remember, God is with you every step of the way, inviting you to live in His Spirit and experience His abundant grace. Keep seeking Him, reflecting on His truth, and walking in His love.
